In honor of National Nutrition Month, I’m sharing a project that I worked on with Rachel Phillips, Creative Director at Children’s Hospital Foundation – Children’s National DC, and Bill Cutter, Creative Director at SmithGifford.
Rowan was diagnosed with celiac disease at Children’s National Hospital at age 4. With the diagnosis came the overwhelming entry into dietary restrictions and change, along with the fear of doing harm and causing long-term damage. Rowan and her mom, Amy, found care, compassion and camaraderie in their specific nutrition journey in the Children’s Hospital Celiac Disease Program and their multi–disciplinary celiac clinic.
I’ve been collaborating with Children’s National Hospital DC for a number of years now and I’ve consistently witnessed the relationship between the hospital and families, gaining a deeper understanding of the labor of love that drives both families and the amazing staff at Children’s.
