Lluminaire Salon | Beauty for Life

Dean Krapf is a hair and makeup stylist, which is how we originally met. When you work with good people, they can become great friends. So, when Dean asked if I was interested in collaborating on a project for Lluminaire Salon which he owns with Mario Rentuma, I was quick to say yes.

Beauty For Life is one of those projects where I get to work with people I adore, and where I’m reminded that I’m lucky enough to work in the profession that I do.

Along with Dean - one of the nicest, as well as most talented, people that you'd ever meet – I got to work with the always energetic and innovative Jean-Pierre Bovie as creative director, another long-time friend and collaborator Pascale Lemaire on wardrobe, and the always-wonderful Joseph Gilbert for post-production magic. My oldest son, Finn, also joined us and captured behind the scenes images. Thank you as well to Elizabeth Centenari and Sondra Hoffman, along with the extremely talented talent from T.H.E. Artist Agency, for rounding out an amazing team.

This was one of those projects where exploration was the name of the game, where everyone was fully immersed in the creative exchanges to create just the right images.

In Dean’s words (he’s good at that too) “Though most of the images are quiet, contemplative - it’s also about a celebration! Celebrating the beauty within and around us each day. A celebration of our differences and the gifts found in both our environment and one another."

I think our day on location was about that too.
